Thank you for using AIForOil.com. These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of our website and services, including the AI Assistant, search, and regulation browsing features (collectively, "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information. Our AI Disclaimer describes important limitations of the AI Assistant. Please read each of these documents.

Who we are

AIForOil.com provides AI-powered tools for the oil and gas industry, including search and browsing of pipeline and related regulations, and an AI Assistant that helps answer questions with citations. These Terms form an agreement between you and the operator of AIForOil.com.

Registration and access

To use certain parts of the Services (including the AI Assistant), you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Be at least 18 years of age.

Using our Services

What you can do. Subject to these Terms, you may access and use the Services for your lawful purposes, in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.

What you cannot do. You may not use the Services to:

• Violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying logic of the Services (except where expressly permitted by law).
• Automatically or programmatically scrape or extract data from the Services beyond normal use.
• Represent that output from the AI Assistant was written or verified by a human when it was not.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services, circumvent rate limits or access controls, or bypass safety or security measures.
• Use the Services for any illegal, harmful, or abusive purpose.

Account with organization email. If you register using an email address owned by your employer or another organization, we may associate your account with that organization, and the organization may have access to or control over your account in accordance with our agreements with them.

Third party services. Our Services may use or include third party software, products, or services. Those third party offerings are subject to their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Feedback. We welcome your feedback. You agree that we may use any feedback you provide without restriction or compensation to you.

Content and AI output

Your content. You may provide input to the Services ("Input") and receive output ("Output"). You are responsible for your Input and must ensure it does not violate any law or these Terms. You retain ownership of your Input to the extent you hold rights in it.

AI output. Output is generated by automated systems. Given the nature of AI:

• Output may not always be accurate, complete, or current. Do not rely on it as the sole source of truth or as a substitute for professional advice (including legal, regulatory, engineering, or safety advice).
• You must evaluate Output for accuracy and appropriateness for your use case, including using human review where appropriate, before using or relying on it.
• Do not use Output for decisions that could have a legal or material impact on individuals (e.g., credit, employment, safety, or compliance decisions) without independent verification and, where appropriate, professional advice.

We may use Content (Input and Output) to provide, maintain, develop, and improve the Services, and as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our intellectual property

We and our licensors own all rights in the Services, including the website, software, design, and branding. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Services except as permitted by these Terms or with our prior written consent. You may not use our name or logos except as we explicitly allow.

Termination and suspension

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access or account if we determine that you have breached these Terms, that we must do so to comply with law, or that your use could cause risk or harm to us, our users, or others. We may also terminate inactive accounts after reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases; we may delete or retain your data as described in our Privacy Policy. If you believe we suspended or terminated your account in error, you may contact us to appeal.

Discontinuation of Services. We may discontinue the Services or any part of them. If we do, we will give you reasonable advance notice where practicable. If you have prepaid for any Service, we will refund any unused portion as required by law.

Disclaimer of warranties

The services are provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates and licensors disclaim all warranties (express, implied, statutory, or otherwise), including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content will be accurate or complete.

You accept that any use of output from the services is at your sole risk. You will not rely on output as a sole source of truth or as a substitute for professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages (including loss of profits, goodwill, use, or data), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability under these terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the services in the 12 months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law. Our affiliates, suppliers, licensors, and distributors are intended third party beneficiaries of this limitation of liability.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless us, our affiliates, and our personnel from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your Content, or any violation of these Terms.

Copyright and intellectual property complaints

If you believe that your copyright or other intellectual property rights have been infringed by content on our Services, please contact us at info@aiforoil.com with: a description of the work you claim has been infringed; a description of where the allegedly infringing material is located on our Services; your address, telephone number, and email; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf. We may remove or disable content that we believe violates these Terms or is infringing and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

General terms

• Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes that adversely affect you, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., by email or in-product notice) where practicable. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign our rights or obligations to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Trade controls. You must comply with all applicable trade laws, including sanctions and export control laws. The Services may not be used in or for the benefit of, or exported or re-exported to, any U.S. embargoed country or territory or any individual or entity with whom dealings are prohibited or restricted under applicable trade laws. Your Input may not include material or information that requires a government license for release or export.
• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and AI Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
• Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
